- Name: Moyra Mulholland Botta
- What words best describe you? Creative, loyal, intuitive, easy going, fun loving, makeup artist, mom
- What is it that inspires you? Life, love, nature, people
- What are you most grateful for? My two beautiful sons who give such joy, my life, my family, my health
- What important values do you live by? Do unto others—be kind, life is hard, don’t make it more difficult
- Life is…living, doing, being
- Love is…acceptance & understanding, universal
- Work is…good, hard
- Biggest achievement so far…Oh gosh, I want to say my boys, but I just gave birth to them
- Hardest thing you’ve ever done…Losing my mom & dad a few years ago, giving up smoking 25 years ago
- Most impactful or favorite book…This is going to sound funny. I think it would be “Shogun,” by James Clavell. I read it when I was 14, and it totally fascinated me—learning about another culture
- Least favorite word… “curated” It is good, it is useful, but it has been sooo overused of late
- Where do you see yourself in five years? Aha my favorite question. I see my home scaled down, simplified. My sons will be 22 and 25, so I will probably be living by myself on this beautiful land with mountain views, in my comfortable modest modern home, with a painting studio & swimming pond…. my test garden—working on new organic vegan formulations, collaborating with my peers—experimenting with non-harmful ingredients for safe beauty products. I see myself mentoring young makeup artists and raising awareness about harmful ingredients.
